On an auspicious occasion on September 18, 1955, renowned biologist Father R.W. Tim, C.S.C. (Ph.D.) established the Notre Dame College, a center for informal science education, the pioneer of the science club movement in Bangladesh, and the country’s first science club: ‘Notre Dame Science Club’, with the goal of ‘Science in the Service of Man’ in mind.The ‘Notre Dame Science Club’ was established with the pledge to utilize the resources of a developing country like ours to achieve self-reliance, innovate the country’s technology, instill a scientific mindset in a larger section of society, instill enthusiasm and passion among the youth in the work of creating future scientists, create scientific literacy among the public, increase science awareness in the entire society, and bring the benefits of science to the masses.

Our Research & Development Wing

The R&D Wing (Research and Development Wing) of the Notre Dame Science Club (NDSC) is the branch which emphasizes the operations of scientific research & inventions. The vision and mission of the Research and Development (R&D) wing is focused on advancing humanity through innovative inventions and research. Our vision is to create a world where environmental and social challenges can be solved through science and technology. Developing environmentally friendly and sustainable technologies is our primary goal, which will contribute not only to technological progress but also to social development. 

While accelerating scientific development, we are also working to ensure the effective application of technology in society. By conducting research in science and technology, the R&D department not only aims to improve the quality of human life but also strives to build a sustainable future for the next generations. It is our aim is to provide new solutions for human welfare through every research project, which will be beneficial for both people and the environment.
